We thought that last episode’s film, Something Good Coming, was about as bad as it gets. It turns out we were just scraping the surface, because Hearts Around the Table: Kiki’s Fourth Ingredient is nothing less than a majestic, arguably perfect omnishambles, a film where absolutely no element works, and most elements fail disastrously.
KIKI’S FOURTH INGREDIENT
In Kiki’s Fourth Ingredient, food truck proprietor Kiki decides it would be a good idea to cater sister Jenna’s 100-person wedding. Should be a snap for a food professional who feeds crowds of people every day, right? Wrong: Kiki forgot to do even basic-level “write a grocery list” planning for this high-stress, high-profile event, so it’s up to professional restaurateur and full-time hunk Clay to bail her out of a mess of her own making with just four days to go.
On a wedding day marred with all manner of weird, poorly explained, illogical and ultimately pointless snafus, will Kiki manage to cater an unforgettable meal? Will we get to see anything more than a single B-roll image of some chicken? Stay tuned. This may be our angriest episode yet.
Mmm. Chicken.
